New computer, need advice

Which one is better for gaming given the specs?

I realize the Toshiba only has 2 gigs, and if I do purchase that one, it will be upgraded to 4.

To be honest, I am not a big Acer fan. They have been known to cut costs by using cheaper secondary parts. But it could be that nowadays they are building better laptops, anyone have any recent experience?

If we look at the specs, the Acer has the edge over the Toshiba

T8300>T8100
4GB>2GB
9500M >8600M

If you do decide to go for the Toshiba, check first if it has the 32 or 64 bits version of Vista because the 32 won't support more than 3,2 GB of RAM.

Could I suggest a third one?

I would also recommend against Acer... Go with the Toshiba or the Asus. Stick away from Dell as well.

Thanks for the replies guys. After weeks (no lie) of going back and forth, Scott picked a computer for me, and I should be receiving it sometime this week.

I think he went the Toshiba... he didn't tell me though. It is to be a surprise.

I looked at Dells and HPs... they are very pretty computers, but the hardware is not up to par. If I were to get one of those, it would be because they come in pretty colors. :P

Please don't use Dell and HP in one sentence, huge difference. I know there are some HP models that are subpar spec wise but atleast you know you will be getting quality..

Gratz on the notebook! :-)

Please check your Windows first as said before, if it's 32 bits then you can't use the full 4 gb.....
